When I first heard about the collaboration between Kanye West and alternative rock band 30 Seconds To Mars (headed by Jared Leto- pictured above) this past Spring, I honestly didn’t know what to think. Fearing that it would be some sort of illegitimate 3rd cousin to the songs on Lil’ Wayne’s Rebirth album, I didn’t have extremely high hopes for this track. However, I’ve been interested in hearing it ever since. Because, as much as Kanye West has depreciated in the minds of people throughout America and the world due to a certain mid-September surprise award show appearance, I still have faith in the man- and for good reason too. Mr. West didn’t let me down with this one; he fits well in the song and brings as much of his own flavor (reminiscent of 808s and Heartbreak) to the collaboration as 30 Seconds To Mars does.
